We attended the PNBA Fall Trade Show in Portland last week! It was our first event that’s industry-facing instead of reader-facing, and it was a lovely experience. We met dozens of regional booksellers, gave away over 200 ARCs, and got lots of positive feedback on our books and our display. ♥

(That's our kiddo sticking his legs out from underneath the table, much to the delight of everyone.)
Author Ian Patterson accompanied us to Portland to promote his book Fruits of Our Labor, both on the show floor and at a special “nightcapper” event late Sunday night.

On Monday, we visited the truly excellent Portland indie bookstore Parallel Worlds, where we discovered a copy of Accelerated Growth Environment out in the wild!

On Tuesday, back in Seattle, we had an event at Third Place Books Ravenna where Ian and Buzzard author Inez Ray discussed their respective new releases, both of which engage with the culture and politics of women’s rights in different, yet complementary ways. It was a fascinating conversation between two deeply thoughtful authors about these timely and important works of speculative fiction.

It was a bit of a whirlwind tour, but this is the business. We always find more meaning when connecting directly with folks out in the community. Thank you to everyone who showed up for these events!
